Kirsten lives and writes in Tasmania. She works as an ecologist and environmental scientist, drawing her inspiration for writing from the natural world and own life experience. A lover of poetry, Kirsten wrote her first compilation of poems for her grandmother at the age of eight and in 2016 published her first book of poetry, titled “The Orange Space-Where Mothers are Lost and Found.”
Kirsten is the author of two educational children’s books on the care of our environment, titled “Rubbish in the Stormwater” and “No Dog Poo on my Shoe,” both very popular stories in primary schools throughout Tasmania. Kirsten’s passion for the environment and all living things extends to the care of orphaned wildlife, raising them in readiness for their return to nature.
Kirsten is a certified Dream Teacher in the technique of Active Dreaming, facilitating Creative Dreaming workshops with her co-author and dreaming partner Katerina Vangelis. Their first book “When Being Left is Right” will be published in 2019.
Kirsten writes to understand and is a storyteller at heart, giving voice to her thoughts and words for the simple joy of creating and sharing. You’ll find her writing, dreaming and creating on her island home under the spell of Kunanyi/Mt Wellington, not far from where the Forest Raven flies.
