As I awake for the second day of the 2018 AusMumpreneur Conference, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. While I’ve been kept busy with my business being a sponsor this year, I also have some quite stressful personal stuff going on at the same time, and so I must admit I am a little distracted as well as temperamental.
White Light Publishing House have been part of this incredible network for three years now, but this year is extra special. No, we aren’t up for an award. And no, it’s not even because we’re sponsors (even though that’s pretty cool). What makes this year special is the immediate support and love I received as soon as I walked in the door.
With a room full of 250 successful, busy business women, many may expect that it would be just that - all about business, money and power. But let me tell you that this network of incredible mums are certainly much more than their businesses. Remember, these are mums we’re talking about. These women are not only inspirational and empowered, but are full of compassion and empathy, and the reason they’re so successful is because of their hearts.
Even though I’ve been feeling stressed, down and a little all over the place this past week, to be welcomed with so many hugs and an abundance of understanding and support by so many of these outstanding women is nothing short of incredible. This week in particular, I have felt and feared that I may be sinking back into depression many times because of what’s happening in my personal life, but arriving at the conference this year - seeing so many old friends and connecting with a heap of new ones - has reminded me that I’ve got this. I’ve friggin got this.
So to all the AusMums, from my heart to yours, I cannot thank you all enough. In all honesty, you may have very well saved me from heading down a too familiar road that I don’t ever want to see again, and for this, I will be eternally grateful. Keep being your amazing selves.
